 Good one for new borns January 7, 2009
This diaper is very soft and fits perfectly for our newborn (6 lbs). Baby feels comfortable in it and does not have any signs of skin rash. Easy to fit without disturbing the baby's umbilical cord area. Only problem we've noticed so far is that if the baby wets twice then it leaks. Our baby cries only in that case. The diaper holds good for the first time and baby is comfortable with it.
No diaper rash; VERY useful color-coded wetness indicator January 2, 2009

Unlike Huggies, our newborn had no diaper rash problems with the Pampers. What we particularly liked about the Swaddlers New Baby diapers was the vertical, color-coded wetness indicator strip on the front of the diapers. It was so convenient using the color of the strip (yellow for dry, blue for wet) to tell whether it was time for a changing! Strangely, I was unable to find this feature itemized on the Pampers website, the box that the diapers came in, or Amazon.com. This is a great selling point to overlook! We're moving over to the Size 1 Swaddlers and hope they include the color code strip.

The Pampers Swaddlers diapers are, hands down, the best diapers. They are the softest and have the most elasticity. I always give these as gifts at baby showers!

I tried several other brands. Some were just weird when wet, stiffening up like cardboard (my son would actually cry because of it) and one brand just gave diaper rash. These are soft (almost cloth-like), absorbent, they stay soft when wet and seem comfy. They have a mesh-like inner layer that helps keep some of the poop sliminess away from the skin. He almost never gets diaper rash. My only complaint is there is no elasticity at the top of the back of the diaper. So if he poops a lot, or is bouncing in his jumper when he poops (and squishes it upward) it oozes up and out. I don't know how that compares with other brands, but it could be improved upon either way. I also get occasional leakage around the legs, but he has virtually liquid poo. I'm sure no diaper is perfect, and this is definitely my favorite.
